SMALL DOUBLE WHITE (Anglica Minor)
Palest rose pink, not dead white, with a tinge of buff in centre when opening, anthers showing, pistil 1/4 in., free ; faintly scented. Petals incurving, tending to anemone form. Pedicel red glanded, hip smooth. Calyx, red glanded, extending beyond bud, ending in narrow point and six narrow wings (see Plate 13).
Leaves pale grey-green, rather small and finely cut, small curved thorns on petiole.
Wood green, a very few broad down curved thorns.
As Salmon says, this is not so large as most Albas: 'Seldom higher than a Damask'. With me it makes a bush 4 ft. high. It can be distinguised easily by its smooth hip and few curved thorns.

e) Die einfache weisse Zwergrose. Engl. Dwarf white Rose. Herr Dietrich sagt, dass sich diese Rose in den Gärten zu Eisenach nur 2 Jahre einfach erhalten habe; dann sei sie halb gefüllt geworden.
Translation:
e) The single white dwarf rose. Engl. Dwarf white Rose. Mr. Dietrich states that this rose stayed single in the gardens at Eisenach for only two years, then she became semi-double.

δ. Die niedrige einfache weisse Rose. (Rosa alba humilis. Dwarf white Rose.) Die Blumen sind glatt und grünlich, und überhaupt die Dornen nicht zahlreich. Sie wächst gewöhnlich nur zu dreh bis gegen vier Fuß hoch, und ist wahrscheinlich durch schlechtern Boden von der wilden weissen entstanden.

Fig. 2. Die grosse Zwerg-Rose. (Rosa truncata major.) Es giebt mehrere Arten der Zwerg-Rose, darunter diese die grösste ist. Ihr Strauch wird nicht über 2 Fuss hoch, ihre schöne und sehr gefüllte Blume aber ist of 2 bis 3 Zoll im Durchmesser gross, und flach gebaut. Sie hat eine sehr zarte blasse Fleischfarbe, welches ihr mit ihrem dunkelgrünen Laube, ein überaus schönes Ansehn giebt.

Le rosier ne vient pas à plus de 2 pieds, mais sa belle Rose double a souvent 2 à 3 pouces de diamètres et est plate. Sa couleur est d'un incarnat pâle très-délicat, ce qui en contrastant avec la feuillage vert-foncé lui donne un très-bel air.

Fig. 2. The large truncated Rose. (Rosa truncata major.) There are several species of the truncated Rose, of which this is superior to all in size. Its bush does not exceed 2 feet in height but its beautiful and vastly well filled flower having often from 2 to 3 inches in diameter of size and of a plat form. It being of a very delicate pale flesh-colour, joined with a dark green foliage, gives it an extremely beautiful show.

Il suo arbusto non cresce oltre 2 piedi, ma il suo bello e pienissimo fiore tiene spesso 2 o 3 dita nel diametro ed è spianato. È d'un pallido color di carne molto delicato, che fa colle sue folglie verdi scure un bellissimo contrasto.
