July 2007, Coquitlam near Vancouver, BC Canada.
Full sun when opening brings out the pink/red coloration. |
The same single bloom from the previous day. Again with black background in comparison to grass!! |
I have never seen such intense color change on this variety.
Reason : These blooms had solid sunshine from opening to finish. |
Fully open blooms a day later in full sun, but now with black background which looks so much better !!
The front 2 blooms are the same ones as before.
It takes so much extra time to set up the black background, but it's worth it as you can clearly see here !!! |
Two sprays on top of a tree rose. The sun brings out lots of pink. |

A close up of one bloom from the previous image. Taken in full sun.
The background of these first three images is the lawn just cut and not showing much green ! Next images will have black Poster Board for background which always looks great for light coloured roses, especially whites.

Another nice spray in full sun.
As the darkest posterboard available still looks grey, I have blackend the background in photoshop which I finally learned. |
After three days of solid sunshine, which gives lots more pink at the petals edges.
It looks very nice as a fully open bloom. |
