Notes:
From "Collins Book of British Gardens", by George Plumtre, 1985, p. 345: "....climbing rose, given to Mrs Player [Jean Mary Loder (b. September 17, 1919), married Stephen Dane Player of Ednaston Manor, Brailsford, Derbyshire on January 31, 1939] by Mrs Cavendish from Holker Hall in Cumbria [Pamela June Thomas (d. April 4, 2006) married Richard Edward Osborne Cavendish on December 16, 1937]. Uncertain of the rose's name they decided to call it the 'Ednaston' rose."
