Discovered by F.J. Grootendorst (Netherlands, 1923).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1932 as 'Pink Grootendorst'.

Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Pink.  None to mild fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:

Height: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).  Width: 42" (105cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.
