How different is 'Wedding Day' to its seed parent; Rosa longicuspis var. sinowilsonii. Are they close enough to make differentiating them difficult? If one can be distinguished from the other, what would one look for?
I have grown this rose for the last 16 years, it tumbles in a picturesque manner over my garage and blooms in this part of England (Dorset) around July - the scent is heavenly. I have never had any problems with it until this year when following a very wet Spring it developed mildew. The thorns are harsh and numerous and I would think that it is an ideal rose to grow over a wall or fence to deter burglars. My only disappointment is that it flowers just the once.
