Downes...... was Mrs. Rupert Downes, a vice-patroness of the National Rose Society of Victoria.
She was also the lady for whom Alister Clark named the 1932 rose 'Doris Downes'.

Lady Dallas Brooks was the wife of the Govenor of Victoria and the patroness of the National Rose Society of Victoria.
