How different is 'Wedding Day' to its seed parent; Rosa longicuspis var. sinowilsonii. Are they close enough to make differentiating them difficult? If one can be distinguished from the other, what would one look for?	REPLY

I'm told that some plants sold in Australia as Wedding Day are Seagull (and in New Zealand, some are Polyantha grandiflora). Too hard.	REPLY

I have grown this rose for the last 16 years, it tumbles in a picturesque manner over my garage and blooms in this part of England (Dorset) around July - the scent is heavenly. I have never had any problems with it until this year when following a very wet Spring it developed mildew. The thorns are harsh and numerous and I would think that it is an ideal rose to grow over a wall or fence to deter burglars. My only disappointment is that it flowers just the once.
