*** Growing near Houston, TX: sub tropical zone 9a. Mild winters, hot, extremely humid summers that last half the year. No spray. ***
Purchased from Rose Petals Nursery Spring 2012.
Note: This was the smallest rooted cutting I had ever received, and it really made me nervous. I left it in the original gallon pot for over a year, and didn't mess with it at all, beyond keeping it watered.
July 2013- Not especially vigorous so far, but pretty flowers and lovely scent. Blooms balled until temps started reaching the upper 80s/90s.
5/24/2014 - Planted in new garden.
8/30/2014 - put up her first four foot cane. Very beautiful flowers!
10/2015- a very thin lady, less than two feet wide, but about five feet tall. Blooms frequently. Tipsy has become one of my very favorites.
4/2016- bloomed quite a bit through winter this year, and just put out two fat basal canes. She's going to be much more bushy now.
2/28/2017- Plant is about six feet tall and needs to be pruned. I really love this rose!
2/26/2019- I hard pruned Tipsy in 2017 and she hasn't grown an inch since. RESIST hard pruning this plant, she doesn't like it!
11/15/2020- officially expired.
