I've been growing Secret for over 10 years and it is so hardy. It loves to be dead headed and will flush 3-4 times per year here in my Zone 8 b garden Central Coast California. I lightly prune in January and then again when I deadhead. I give a feed of manure, then comfrey nettle tea and Max Sea ...throughout the growing season. The flowers are always perfect.
I bought this rose as a clearance bare root in 2024 from Home Depot- it was so beautiful last year that I was pretty disappointed this spring when it just never grew leaves. It still has a bit of green at the base, but we're at the end of June with no leaves yet.
Found another clearance one at Home Deport 6/23/2025. This year I am absolutely starting cuttings of this so it has more of a chance as an own root rose.
Clearance Home Depot square pot purchased 6/23/2025. Felt bad leaving it behind as it was the last one. Zone ratings seem a bit conflicted. I will likely start cuttings of it if I like it enough.
