Mid winter buds. Sourced from Thomas for Roses, on multiflora.
Pedicels less bristly than Billy's shot (#62833) and less green. Distinct reddish tinge. Looking more like Margaret's shot (#88267).
Also note creamy tones of buds, and strong dash of crimson on the bud at top right.

Comparison of old and new canes. Young thorns are crimson, on reddish canes. Old thorns are grey, on olive green canes.
Thorns have a distinctive profile, with a parabolic curve to the lower edge and convex/concave/convex "wave" profile to the upper edge, with the tips being about 75 degrees to the cane. Overall, the plant is moderately thorny.
Foliage has finely-toothed margins, and is matte mid green with a hint of blue.

Bloom about to open (and taking its time about it). No discernible cream or crimson tones on the petals, although they have a slight green tinge towards their bases (difficult to see in the photo, but obvious in real life).
